Celebrating 10 Years
of Ministry
November 7, 2008
Eternity Minded Ministries is
celebrating 10 years of ministry this month! In November of 1998
I launched EMM with my friends Terry Chamblin, Dave Wacker, and
Carl Dawson participating as our very first Board of Directors.
Our first board meeting was in San Diego, California and our
purpose was to touch lives with the Good News of Christ around
the world. We started first in Eastern Europe and then moved on
to India, Africa, and Latin America.
Looking back, I think we can easily say we have met that goal
and will continue to do so because of your partnership. You have
helped tens of thousands of people experience the joy of knowing
Christ. You have helped alleviate their suffering in a variety
of ways. You have helped encourage lonely pastors in far away
places and provided gifts for their families. You have joined us
in planting new churches that continue to share the Gospel to
this day. You have given Bibles to thousands of new believers.
Praise the Lord!
A
few weeks ago I received an email from my English friend Nigel
Gordon. He was in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, doing some
ministry. He was so excited to share a testimony with me from
one of the events that we did there during Mission Bucharest
back in 2001. It seems that there is now a Christian Police
Association in Bucharest as a result of an outreach dinner that
we did for police officers. There were so many officers that
came to Christ that evening that they were inspired to form an
association to encourage each other in the faith. Nigel went on
to tell that he had met many officers that had come to Christ
that night in the Crown Plaza, including a top ranked General
who is open about his faith.
Ten years after forming EMM we are better developed and my
passion has not wavered. I have said many times that I am
equally excited to preach the Gospel and preach for renewal. My
passion is the same as the Psalmist who wrote, “I speak of your
faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your
truth from the great assembly.” In Rwanda this month I will be
preaching the Gospel and well as messages of renewal and
reconciliation with “love and truth.”
In light of the economic situation we are all facing we are
thrilled to still be doing “Mission Reconciliation” in Rwanda
the end of this month. We are facing our toughest economic
challenge in our 10-year history. Even after cutting our
salaries and other expenses we have not reached our financial
goals for Rwanda. We still need 1,000 eyeglasses ($1.00 each),
medical insurance for 5,000 people ($2.00 a person) and funds
for evangelism. This makes us $16,000 short of our $58,000 goal.
Whatever you are able to give at this time would be greatly
appreciated. Sharing Christ in Rwanda will be a fantastic way to
celebrate our anniversary!
We are also trying to save on the cost of printing and
publishing and would like to bring all of that inside the
office. By purchasing an Apple iMac Desktop and Adobe Photoshop
we would be able to do our own layouts. If you would like to
help us with this anniversary gift we would certainly appreciate
it.
With Eternity in Mind,
Dan
Please pray for us as we leave for Rwanda Nov. 29th! |
