Joy in Iganga!
May 2006

What brings you great joy in life? Seeing a friend, watching a child perform, morning conversations with your spouse, or relaxing at the end of a hard day? These bring a certain joy to us all. The greatest joy, I believe, comes from knowing that one has made another person's life just a little bit better. As we traveled back to Iganga, Uganda we found that the Water of Life Festival held in February made life better for thousands of people. Your partnership with us helped change the course of life for many and now their eternal destiny is with Jesus Christ. Please read what the chairman of the festival, Pastor Daniel, said about Eternity Minded Ministries and the Water of Life Festival:

"On behalf of the whole church in Iganga Town and the surrounding areas I wish to extend our gratitude and appreciation for the work that God has done in our town through the team that ministered in the Water of Life Festival which took place between 22nd Feb-26th Feb 2006.

We have seen a big change in our town and the impact of the Festival has lifted the church from a point of despair to a point of hope. We are not despised as has been in the past. In the past we were known for making noise but this time we addressed the physical needs also and the Gospel made a lot of sense to the people in town.

In the past events we would hardly record a total of 20 new members in all the churches together after a whole week of Gospel. This time we are boasting of hundreds that have joined the church in Iganga yet the Gospel was ministered in three days only! We give the glory and honor to God. All categories of people were touched. The sick were healed. Even staunch Moslems and people who were rooted in witchcraft were among the people who gave their lives to Christ. One pastor commented during one of our fellowship meetings that he is now feeling the joy of being a pastor in Iganga. For many years he has been pasturing less than fifty people yet the number has now doubled and even over!

The impact of the Festival was not felt (only) in the town and immediately surrounding. It went as far as even 45 km away. We used radio announcements and some people came from that far and gave their lives to Christ. Two churches have been started. One in town here and another from Kibale which is about 45km away!

We pray that the Lord may bless the entire team from America, Northern Ireland and Kampala for the sacrifice and love that we were shown. Only the Lord can reward you. May He give the team strength and good health and provision so that other communities may be blessed too."

I pray that just reading that testimony fills your heart with joy unspeakable. You are a partner in this ministry and your reward will be great. Souls saved, churches planted, people healed, pastors encouraged, Bibles distributed and evangelism that is continuing--what could be greater? Praise the Lord!

I also trust that reading the testimonies in this newsletter will cause you to want to help us even more. This June we will be going to the city of Arua, Uganda north of the Nile River. It is a war torn city that needs the Water of Life Festival in a desperate way. In just a month and a half we need to raise $25,000 to do the ministry that is on our hearts. The committee there is working hard and they are anticipating a huge harvest. I can hardly wait to get there!

You are so faithful to this ministry that I have no doubt that we will meet this goal. Thank you for being touched in your spirit to give so that thousands can come to Christ. The Kingdom of God is advancing in Africa, because of you and because God loves that huge continent.

With Eternity In Mind,

Dan
