Water of Life Festival, Iganga Uganda

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your prayers for our team and our ministry here in Iganga.  Our God is an awesome God, and He is at work here in Iganga.  We have lots of exciting news to report to you, beginning with news about our team member who was held back in London. Brenda Weatherby was able to get her passport extended in London, came on the next flight out, and arrived here in Iganga on Friday. She is very glad to be here with her husband. 

Before we even began any ministry, a local radio news reporter came to our hotel to interview some of the local pastors about what is going one here, and the reporter gave his life to Christ!  What a glorious beginning.

Right after that great beginning we went on to visit three schools with about 800 children in attendance in all.  Out of those 800 children, more than 300 of them gave their lives to Christ!  We also sent a team to a church where there were about 200 people present and about 40 of them became Christians. 

On the next day, Friday, we sent teams to five different schools. During that ministry there were about 90 decisions for Jesus.  We also visited three prisons where approximately 200 inmates were given salvation messages and 42 became Christians, including the warden at the largest prison in the district!

The Water of Life Festival began with a bicycle race. The race was very well attended by several hundred people. Adam Weatherby preached a salvation message and about 120 came to the Lord. 

On the first night of the festival the ground was very nearly rained out.  But by the grace of God, the rain stopped just in time when Dan began to preach the message to several thousand people.  The response was fantastic!  We don't have the count of lives saved that night yet, but it was a joyous sight to see the hundreds and hundreds of people who came forward to receive Christ!
